I Want A Really Good Summer
A poem on savoring summer memories.
I want a really good summer.
One with the sound of wind chimes that
Softly blows into the windows of my
Screened-in front porch; Our garden
Overgrown with old ivy and new flowers.
One with endless sun-drenched days of
My baby with her toes in cold hose water;
A blanket in the shade with a glass of
Lemonade in my palm.
One with trips to the big blue lake
Where waves lap the sand and my husband
Holds our daughter in his strong arms;
We stop for melted ice cream cones on
The lazy drive home.
One with our neighborhood friends
From up and down the block; There are cozy
Kitchen dinners, backyard baby talks, coffee
And stroller walks, and I'm gathering
Herbs from my friend's apothecary pots.
All of this has happened in my really
Good summer.
And I want more.

Our life after all is a collection of moments. Beautifully written ❤️
